DESCRIPTION:Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake is hosting a Chaney volunteer day at their ReStore in Halethorpe\, MD on Friday\, March 10. ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture\, appliances\, home accessories\, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. \nAs a volunteer\, you’ll assist in accepting donations\, preparing items for sale\, pricing stock\, and arranging inventory on the showroom floor. Plus\, volunteers help keep the warehouse and showroom floors well organized and sparkling clean. Volunteers also assist shoppers\, providing helpful customer service and support. \nThere will be a morning shift and an evening shift available. DESCRIPTION:We are actively looking for volunteers to participate in JA BizTown! There are multiple volunteer dates available in Central Maryland. Please view the full calendar of opportunities below: \nClick Here to View All Opportunities \nJA BizTown is a simulated city where fourth through sixth graders experience hands-on workplace\, business\, and personal finance challenges. After a few weeks of in-classroom curriculum\, students are selected for a job and spend a day at the JA facility taking on the role of a real-world professional. The fun\, immersive atmosphere inspires teamwork\, critical thinking\, and decision-making skills for each student. \nAfter participating in a comprehensive\, in-school curriculum\, students come to JA BizTown to get a taste of the real world of work through applied\, hands-on learning. As a volunteer\, you guide students through the day\, offering your firsthand knowledge and expertise to enhance their experiences. Each day\, a team of 15-20 volunteers helps students have a meaningful JA BizTown experience. JA staff are also on-site to lead the simulation. Online training is required prior to your JA BizTown visit. In addition\, volunteers arrive early on simulation day for hands-on instruction. \nVolunteer Requirements: Must be 16 or older\nHave a valid government photo identification (We use the Raptor Technology system to read the volunteer’s driver’s license and compares that information to a sex offender database.)

SUMMARY:2022 Back Yard Bull Roast
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Back Yard Bull Roast will be held on Saturday\, October 15 from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Chaney’s Waldorf Plant. Each year\, we rely heavily on volunteers to help make our Bull Roast as successful as possible! \nWe have over 120 volunteer opportunities that are available to Chaney employees and their family members. All volunteers must be over 18 years old to participate. \nVolunteers should arrive to the Bull Roast by the time specified in their sign up. Upon arrival\, please locate your “team captain” to check in\, get your t-shirt\, nametag\, and instructions. Volunteers can enjoy complimentary lunch before or during their volunteer hours. \nThis year’s complimentary t-shirts are a long-sleeve\, sporty material. They are unisex sizes. Please select your desired t-shirt size when you sign up. \nAll volunteers will be required to participate in a brief training session with their team captain via Zoom prior to the Bull Roast.
